
Kyu-hyun of Super Junior will
join the 20th anniversary performance of the creative musical
"Werther."
Kyu-hyun will take the role of
the main character "Werther" in the musical "Werther,"
which will open at the BBCH Hall of Gwanglim Art Center in August. Kyu-hyun,
who touched the audience with his fresh and honest "Werther" in
November 2015, returns to "Werther," which has become more mature. In
response, Kyuhyun said, "Werther is the work that many fans wanted to see.
I will return with a deeper emotion as I participate for the second time,"
he said, heralding Kyu's "emotional Werther."
Based on the novel "The Sorrows of Young Werther" by world-renowned literary man Goethe, the musical "Werther" is about the sublime love story of the main characters "Werther" and "Lotte." It is regarded as a masterpiece that marked a milestone in the Korean creative musical scene, and marks its 20th anniversary this year.
Kyu-hyun's main character,
"Werther," is a young man with a pure and hot passion for love. It is
expected that musical fans will respond enthusiastically as they are scheduled
to express the complex inner side of "Werther," including the
yearning, excitement and anguish toward "Lotte," with Kyu-hyun's
delicate acting skills.
Meanwhile, starting with the
musical "Three Musketeers" in 2010, Kyuhyun has established himself
as a trusted musical actor, performing in a number of works including
"Catch Me If You Can," "Moon Embracing the Sun," "Sing
in the Rain," "The Days," "Robinhoot," Mozart! and
"The Man Who Laughs." The new 20th anniversary performance of
"Werther" will be available at the BBCH Hall of Gwanglim Art Center
in August.
