BoA and S.M. Entertainment showed off their unique sense of humor to mark the 20th anniversary of their debut.
BoA appeared on SBS' "Wook Talk Special," which aired on Feb. 19, as a solo guest on a talk show for the first time in five years to mark the 20th anniversary of her debut, and showed off her witty remarks, attracting viewers' attention.
BoA was introduced by MC Lee Dong-wook, who first introduced the concept of being a trainee in Korea and the first Korean singer to top the Oricon chart and the first Asian star to appear on the show, saying, "I'm here with the thought of spending this year in a more diverse and wonderful way."
BoA then said, "I was at an age where the number of 3 billion was out of reach 20 years ago, when its agency SM Entertainment invested 3 billion won. The company is so cool that no one has ever said this. I was so grateful to learn later in my article that I had invested that much money.”
Also, BoA was ashamed to see the video she interviewed after winning the grand prize in 2002 at the age of 17 as the youngest person to win the grand prize at "SBS Music Awards."
"I always say that music is the easiest time machine I've ever had to try again, but I felt like I was an 18-year-old girl again a few years ago," BoA said, adding, "It was so much fun, and I literally felt like I had forgotten about myself."
In particular, BoA said of the difficult choreography of "Woman," released in 2018, "When I first received the choreography, I thought the screen was turned upside down.” She added, “I have to do it, right?” and "I don't want to try it, I don't think I can do it," and drew admiration by revealing an unusual sense of professionalism.
At the end of the show, BoA wore a school uniform to show off her cute and sweet charm, which is different from the charismatic look she has shown on stage, but showed off her flawless steps and excellent dance skills with a pump game in the arcade, showing off her "Star of Asia"-like force.
Meanwhile, "Wook Talk Special," which features BoA as a guest, will air its second episode at 10 p.m. on February 26.
