Sungkuk pre-released the songs and music videos of his new songs "Cicada" and "Anyway" on his online music site at noon on Jan. 7.
The first title song, "Cicada," is a big band in the POP music line, and you can feel a richer sound by collaborating with Korea Junior Big Band, South Korea's first children's jazz big band. The story is like a self-portrait of modern people living a hard day.
Composed by SM Entertainment-turned-songwriter Lee Je-yi, "Cicada" delivers hope with an impressive chorus from Cicada’s crying and an addictive melody that comforts tired modern people and "Let’s Run Again" toward a dream that has been forgotten.
Another title track, "Anyway," was written and composed by hit maker and K-pop legend Kim Dong-chan. "Anyway" features addictive melodies that can be easily sung by anyone and witty lyrics that solve problems between men and women, and singer Han Yeo-reum, who belongs to the same agency as Sungkuk, participated in the singing.
Sungkuk, who earlier made his eyes known to the public by winning five wins in his appearance on KBS 1TV's morning yard "Discussion Dream Stage," has expanded his music spectrum by playing various genres such as pop, rock, swing and ballads through the album, as well as working with musicians of various genres. Expectations are rising for the musician-success, who is also a talented vocalist and a talent as an all-around entertainer.
