TWICE, Japan's Oricon 'Annual Artist Total Sales Ranking' K-pop singer, the best record of the year!

TWICE has achieved a great feat of achieving this year’s best record among K-pop artists in Japan.

According to the annual artist total sales ranking within "Oricon’s Annual Ranking 2019" released by Japan’s Oricon on the morning of Dec. 23, TWICE was ranked fourth, the highest ranking as a K-pop singer.

The "Annual Artist Total Sales Ranking" is a chart based on the total sales of music content, including CDs in the form of singles and albums, DVDs and Blu-ray videos, and downloads and streaming of digital music. You can see which artists played a great role in the Japanese music market.

TWICE has recorded the highest figure among K-pop singers in 2019 on the corresponding chart, and has garnered more attention since their debut there in June 2017. They are also the only Korean girl group to be listed at No. 6 with their second best album "#TWICE2," released in March this year.

The annual rankings released by Billboard Japan, Tower Records and Spotify, as well as Oricon, also showed off the infinite growth of "K-pop flagship girl groups."

TWICE ranked fifth, this year’s best K-pop singer record, in the "top artist" category, a comprehensive chart that combines album sales, downloads and streaming of songs and SNS scores within Billboard Japan’s "2019 Annual Ranking."

It ranked first and sixth with their second best album "#TWICE2" and second full-length album "&TWICE," respectively, on the top 10 chart of "K-pop Japanese Released Albums" in Tower Records’ "2019 Best Sellers.

It was also ranked fifth in the "Most-Played Artist in Japan" category within Spotify’s "2019 Spotify Japan Rankings." This is equivalent to the K-pop girl group's best record.

TWICE recently made headlines by reporting that they have sold 1 million copies of their albums in South Korea for three consecutive years, and on Dec. 23, the accumulated sales of albums in Korea and Japan surpassed 8 million copies.

Meanwhile, TWICE is the only K-pop singer this year to be invited to Japan’s flagship year-end K-pop festival NHK "紅白歌合戦" for the third consecutive year.

TWICE, who is currently hosting the world tour "TWICE WORLD TOUR 2019 TWICELIGHTTS," will hold two additional performances of the Tokyo Dome in Japan on March 3 and 4.

On March 7 and 8, it will stage the finale of the world tour at KSPO DOME in Songpa-gu, Seoul, and mark the grand finale of the all-time world tour that spans "29 performances in 17 cities around the world."

In the first half of next year, the company will unveil the shining moments of its world tour and its growth period through original YouTube content.
