Boy group ONEUS once again shook the Japanese chart.
With the release of their second single "808" in Japan on Dec. 18, ONEUS proved their hot popularity by entering No. 2 on the Oricon Daily Singles Chart on the day of its release.
In particular, ONEUS’s upcoming single "808" sold 17,326 copies as soon as it was released, clearly revealing their presence as a K-pop hot Rookie.
Moreover, this is a ranking that is one step higher than entering No. 3 on the Oricon singles chart with its debut single "Twilight" released in August, which reflects the high popularity and growth of ONEUS.
In addition, since ONEUS recorded more than 60,000 sales in their debut single "Twilight," which is unusual for a rookie group, the trend of album sales for "808" is drawing keen attention.
Since their official debut in Japan in August, ONEUS has made their second consecutive Oricon Single Chart Top3, showing rapid growth in a short period of time, adding to expectations for their future performance.
The title track "808" is a combination of the meaning of the number "8," which means "good things happen," and "∞(8)," a symbol of infinity, which compares good luck and unlimited power to "808," which carries a message that it will definitely succeed by holding "808" in the path they choose without being swayed by opinions around it.
Meanwhile, ONEUS unveiled their music video of the song’s performance and a new version of the arrangement through ONEUS Naver V Live channel for three days from Dec. 17-19.
