
BLACKPINK proved K-pop's top girl group dignity in its year-end closing of Spotify, the world's largest music platform.
BLACKPINK finished second on "Most Streamed K-Pop Artists," the highest record among K-pop girl groups, according to "Spotify Wrapped 2019 Global K-Pop Top Lists," released on Dec. 5.
In addition, they enjoyed the joy of being ranked second in Kill This Love, third in “Kiss and Make Up,” fourth in “SOLO,” and fifth in “DDU-DU DDU-DU” in Most Streamed K-Pop Tracks. Also, 'Kiss and Make Up' with pop star Dua Lipa was ranked 2nd in the category of 'Most Streamed K-Pop Collaborations'.
Spotify highlighted their 2019 record, calling it "BLACKPINK, It's been a big year."
Looking at this, BLACKPINK's songs have played a total of 1.1 billion times in Spotify alone this year, and they resonated over 56.9 million hours. Music fans from 79 countries enjoyed listening to BLACKPINK songs.
This year, BLACKPINK's 'Kill This Love' is 233 million times, 'Kiss and Make Up' is 172 million times, 'DDU-DU DDU-DU' is 18.9 million times, and 'Don't Know' What To Do 'has been streamed 68.5 million times. In particular, the streaming figures soared up to 65,533 times at 2 pm on April 5, when "Kill This Love" was released.
As such, BLACKPINK, who has been loved globally this year, is sweating as they are working to release a new album in 2020. In addition, the Tokyo Dome concert, which took place on Dec. 4, will continue its three-domed tour, which will take place on Jan. 4-5 of next year, and on Feb. 22 of next year at Osaka's Kyocera Dome and Fukuoka's Yahoo Okudom.
