U.S. K-pop columnist Tamar
Herman published an interview article on Nov. 21 through the Billboard News
section on the comeback process of Golden Child's new song "WANNABE"
and a face-to-face meeting with members.
Tamar Herman praised Golden
Child's musical growth, saying, "We
are back to breathe new life into the K-pop scene with a comeback armed with
freshness."
Golden Child told a variety of
stories about the new song through the Billboard interview, including how they
felt about their comeback, how they talked about new concepts and episodes during
their one-year hiatus.
Leader Dayeol said, "I'm very happy that our album will be
released a year after the last album WISH, and I can't wait to show you our new
looks and concepts." Member Y emphasized the change in the concept,
saying, "If we've been trying to
show a lot of our various vocal charms, this time we're going to show our new
style, our subtle and sexy side."
After a year of absence from
the fast-changing K-pop scene, Golden Child said, "In fact, we didn't feel stressed watching other artists' music.
We just do our best and practice hard all the time." "We'll always have a perfect
performance on stage, so let's not go down. Let's practice hard and show our
fans how hard we've been practicing and preparing for a year! We think it was
meant to be," they said, conveying how much they have grown during the
long hiatus.
Finally, Golden Child said, "Many K-pop seniors have opened the way
for us to introduce K-pop to the world. Through this opportunity, we will try
to show our charm to many people around the world. We're still in the process
of growing up, but we'll never give up!" they said, strengthening
their determination and commitment to future activities.
Meanwhile, Golden Child released
their new song "WANNABE" on Nov. 18 and began its comeback activities
on KBS2TV's "Music Bank" on Nov. 22.
