The group MFBTY, composed of
Tiger JK, Yoon Mi-rae and BIZZY, announced its new song in advance after
confirming its comeback date.
MFBTY, which has drawn attention
as an icon of "KHip-Hop" beyond Korea, released a new album on Nov. 5
and begin full-fledged activities. It is the first time in four years that
Tiger JK, Yoon Mi-rae, and Bizzy will be able to showcase their album-level results
together and since "WondaLand," which was released in 2015.
MFBTY chose to promote only
the music video of its new song before the official music release. The new
song, "Dream Catcher," included in the new album, is expected to
receive much attention as a crossover song combining rock and hip-hop genres.
The video of the new song, which collaborated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korea Creative Content Agency and SM C&C, was carried out as part of a project to revitalize the fashion culture, and MFBTY was the only music video artist to take part, adding significance.
The corresponding video will be released on the
SNS channels of related companies, including SM Entertainment, EsTeam, Feelgood
Music and Dingo, at 6 p.m. on Oct. 25.
The music video, which
features unique compositions and colorful visuals, is directed by Han Sang-bum,
who worked with Drunken Tiger, Yoon Mi-rae, IU, Suzy, Urban Zakapa and Soul
Star.
Previously, MFBTY had its first solo concert in South America and made a prelude to its comeback. On Oct. 11 and Oct. 13, they held hip-hop concerts "2019 MFBTY IN LATINAMERICA" in Chile and Paraguay and met with local fans.
Although
K-pop artists have visited Latin American countries to take the stage, MFBTY
was the first solo concert by a hip-hop artist.
Meanwhile, MFBTY will also host a joint national tour with R&B duo Fly to the sky, which marks its 20th anniversary. The two teams, which released a new song called "Feel This Love" on Oct. 17 through their new album in Fly This Love, joined forces to remember each other's musical footprints and cheer for their future moves as musicians who have walked the same era since the 1990s.
The two teams
are scheduled to meet with the audience in Busan, Daejeon, Gwangju, Cheonan,
Incheon, Suwon and Daegu after their Seoul performances at Olympic Hall in
Bangi-dong, Seoul, Nov. 16-17.
