
On November 16 and
17, R&B representative duo Fly to the Sky and Korean hip hop MFBTY (Tiger JK, Yoon Mi-rae, and Viji) will
hold a concert "Moment: 2019 FTTS 20 TH" at Olympic Hall in Olympic
Park.
The concert
"Moment" is all the more special in those artists representing
different genres, R&B, and hip-hop, meet in the form of featuring to not
only make music but also show live performance capabilities that have been
ironed out in their respective domains, with the group joining forces to hold
concerts.
Fly to the Sky
marked a meaningful time as a duo to mark the 20th anniversary of its debut
this year and will release its 10th full-length album to mark the occasion.
MFBTY, which holds concerts together, also participated in the album with a new
song.
Since debuting in
the K-pop scene in 1999 with "Day by Day," Fly to the Skyhas entertained R&B fans with a number of
hits, including "Promise," "Sea of Love," "Missing
You," "Gravity," "Manly," "My Angel,"
"You're Confined," and "You're Your Season.
MFBTY will be the
first Korean hip-hop artist to host a solo concert tour in South America
starting in October. Prior to its South American tour, it will perform with
Curtis Blow, dubbed the legend of American hip-hop, at the Afro-Korean Hip-hop
Festival hosted by the UCI's Center for Korean Studies on July 7. After the
South American tour, the album is scheduled to be released and a global tour in
2020, which has spurred music activities.
Tiger JK of MFBTY
ranks as one of the pioneers who has just elevated hip-hop to the off-ground
when the genre of hip-hop in Korea in the mid-1990s, while Yoon Mi-rae has been
working with various groups, including Uptown, Tashani, and T, solidifying her
position as an unrivaled soul vocalist and top female rapper in Korea. Bizzy is
a former Movement rapper and has been working with Tiger JK for a long time
even before the MFBTY was formed. He began to gain public recognition by showing
his rap and production skills while participating as a producer in Show Me the
Money 6.
The concert
"Moment" will be held at an important time when both groups can be a
turning point as musicians. Fly to the Skyand MFBTY will remember each other's musical footprints as musicians
who have walked in the same era since the 1990s, though the genres differ
through the concert "Moment."
The exclusive
concert, "Moment: 2019 FTTS 20 TH," will be held on October 15 by
R&B, hip-hop legends and veterans who are not afraid of any opponent.
Starting with Seoul performances to be held at the Olympic Hall of the Olympic
Park in Yangil on November 16 and 17, the concerts will continue in seven
cities across the country, including Busan, Daejeon, Gwangju, Cheonan, Incheon,
Suwon, and Daegu. Tickets for local performances, which will open at a one-hour
interval, can also be booked through Interpark tickets, starting with the Seoul
concert at 12 p.m. on October 15.
