Global group IZ*ONE once again shook the
Japanese music market.
According to Oricon, Japan's biggest music
sales website, sales of IZ*ONE's third Japanese single "Vampire" in
the first week of the year (2019.09.23.~ 2019.09.29) totaled 205,000 units,
marking the first week of sales of more than 200,000 copies in Japan with three
consecutive single albums.
Based on this, IZ*ONE has grabbed the top
spot in Weekly's rankings, following the Oricon weekly combined singles
ranking. This is the second time IZ*ONE has topped the Oricon weekly chart,
showing its reputation as a global idol.
Moreover, not only did it top the weekly
chart for two consecutive weeks with "Vampire" following his second
Japanese single "Buenos Aires" released in June, but all three of its
singles released in Japan realized its hot popularity in Japan by setting a record
of more than 200,000 copies in the first week.
IZ*ONE was the first female group to top
the list of new artists in the sales category in the first half of 2019
(Grossing period 2018.12.24.-2019.06.17). It proved its strong appeal in Japan
with three consecutive normal moves, adding to expectations for its global
performance.
