"Monsta X is
set to make a comeback to the local music scene with a new album in October,"
the agency Starship Entertainment said on Sept. 27. "I hope you'll look
forward to and pay attention to it as we'll be back with new music and
performances."
This marks the
first time in about eight months that Monsta X will visit local K-pop fans
since its second full-length album "WE ARE HERE" and the title track
"Alligator" released in February.
Previously, Monsta
X has been enjoying stellar growth as a mainstream group based on its colorful
global activities.
With this year's
album "WE ARE HERE," the album has dominated all domestic and foreign
music charts. The album topped the "Worldwide iTunes Albums Chart,"
topped album charts in 24 regions around the world, topped the iTunes Top K-pop
Song Charts eight regions, and topped the Hanteo Chart's monthly album chart
and four music shows, showing off the potential of its global moves. It also
captivated global fans with its 2019 world tour of the same name, staging 23
performances in 20 cities around the world, including Asia and Europe, North and
South America and Oceania. In particular, the L.A. performance, which was held
at Staples Center, the last U.S. tour site and the region's largest concert
hall, drew much attention by introducing live broadcasts worldwide on Naver V
Live Plus Channel.
In addition, it has
stepped up its global moves with more active overseas activities, including
collaboration with overseas artists, the release of English singles and
attending various TV programs and festivals.
With popular U.S.
hip-hop musician French Montana, "WHO DO U LOVE?" ranked 27th on the
Billboard Pop Songs chart, the most popular music media in the U.S. and Canada,
and also showed signs of ranking 37th on the chart program "American TOP
40," which choose popular songs from all over the U.S. and Canada. In
particular, in both charts, Monsta X became the second K-pop group to enter the
market, proving its extraordinary popularity.
In addition, the
recently released single "LOVE U" has drawn huge attention from music
fans, including a remix version of "WHO DO U LOVE?" remixed by the
new song "LOVE U" and music producer and member of global hip-hop
group Black Eyed Peas
During the tour, it
also appeared on American ABC channel Jimmy Kimmel Live, Good Morning America
and Britain's ITV channel Good Morning Britain, and recently appeared on NBC's
"Ellen Degeneres Show," "Teen Choice Awards,"
"IHeartRADIO Music Festival" and "Life Is Beautiful
Festival" to show off a series of performances.
Monsta X, which has
received worldwide fans' attention through such diverse global activities,
plans to make a comeback to the music scene with a new album featuring more
colorful charms and performances in late October, which will appeal to local
fans. Monsta X's musical growth, which is repeated for each album, is drawing
keen attention.
