Singer SUNMI's new song
"LALALAY" has also received overseas charts, continuing her "Global
K-pop Queen"-down box office record.
SUNMI's "LALALAY" ranked
first in the worldwide K-pop chart released by iTunes on Aug. 29, including the
United States, Japan, Germany, France, England, Brazil, Canada, Spain, India,
Mexico, Australia, Russia, Sweden, Belgium, Austria, Turkey, Hong Kong, Poland,
Portugal, Egypt, Chile, New Zealand, Romania and Vietnam.
Announcing her new single
"LALALAY" on Aug. 27, she showed off her power to sweep the top eight
local music sites upon her comeback, and topped overseas music charts, proving
her strong global music power. In addition, numerous dance cover videos have
been uploaded from overseas beyond Korea, proving Sunmi's global popularity.
With her new concept and unique
performances, she is truly a performance queen with a more unique
"LALALAY" stage. The charismatic military dance, '냥냥펀치', '세일러문 안무', '삐삐춤' are also receiving much
love for their original performances.
"LALALAY" is another name
for the Korean musical instrument, Tae Pyong-so, and her own song, which has
the double meaning of freewheeling at the same time. The lyrics that pour out
coolly over dance halls and Latin-style exotic sounds are impressive, and the sound
of "Taepyeongso," which dominates the intro, adds to the fun of
listening.
Meanwhile, Sunmi appeared on KBS2's "Music Bank," which will be broadcast live at 5 p.m. on August 30 (local time), and performed the comeback stage of "LALALAY."
