SEVENTEEN, U.S. Billboard Unique
Interview..."We always want to match the image of SEVENTEEN with our
music."
The U.S. Billboard made headlines on Aug 22
(local time) by unveiling not only SEVENTEEN's digital single "HIT"
but also an in-depth solo interview on its activities in the second half of the
year.
Regarding SEVENTEEN, which recently
successfully wrapped up its "HIT" activities and announced the
release of its full-length album on Sept. 16, Billboard said that it ranked
fourth on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart with its digital single
"HIT," and that they will become more important as more opportunities
are available in the U.S.
Asked about the special reasons and goals
for SEVENTEEN's comeback with a digital single, one of the member answered,
"I wanted to approach it in a slightly different way because it's the
beginning of our journey. And I hope that the message we want to express will
go well to the public, and since it's come out with another concept, I'd be
more than happy to get the response that we're doing everything like
SEVENTEEN," he said.
"I felt like 'HIT' was going to be a
powerful performance, but when I saw the first live performance, I thought it
was the song I needed to perform on American television," the reporter
said. Vernon and Joshua answered, "That's what we wanted. We are happy
because we are getting a lot more positive response from overseas fans than
before," they said.
And when asked about the "An Ode"
video, which was a hot topic with a mysterious atmosphere, one of them said,
"We have a lot of implications along with the direction that Seventeen
wants to go, so we have a lot of stories to tell you. So if you wait for your
comeback while watching the 'An Ode' series video, I think you will be able to
fall deeper into it," the reporter said, adding that he was intrigued by
the comeback of their full-length album, referring to their extension to the
digital single.
And I also feel the maturity of SEVENTEEN,
and when asked how they plan to show more in the future, they said, "As a
team, we'll discuss it first and share how to approach the public. And it grew
and matured. We always want our music to match the image that Seventeen has
right now," they said in a sincere response.
Lastly, we're trying to show you something
different ahead of the World Tour 'ODE TO YOU' on our future plans. I think we
can meet more Carat fans through the upcoming concert," they said,
wrapping up the interview, raising hopes for a world tour around the world.
Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR "ODE
TO YOU" IN SEOUL, which is scheduled to return with a full-length album on
Sept. 16, will be held at the KSPO DOME in Seoul for a total of three days from
Aug. 30 to Sept. 1.
