For the third time in Korean artist's history, the group Monsta X has succeeded in the U.S. Billboard Pop Songs chart, drawing keen attention from Billboard.
Billboard, a U.S. pop music media, recently posted news and articles entitled "Monsta X Make History As Second K-Pop Group Ever to Enter Pop Songs Airplay Chart" on its website, highlighting the news of Monsta's entry into the charts.
According to Billboard, MONSTA X has made it to the 39th spot on the U.S. Billboard Pop Songs Airplay chart with the single "WHO DO U LOVE?" released with world-renowned hip-hop musician French Montana.
The corresponding chart is a chart compiled according to the number of times aired on radio stations in the U.S. every week, and Monsta X's entry into the pop song chart was previously known as the third record for a South Korean artist after Psy and BTS, adding to its significance.
Also, Monsta X proved its notable global growth by making its name on the chart along with pop stars loved by fans around the world, including Billy Ailey, Ed Sheeran, Khalid and Taylor Swift.
"While K-pop artists have made great strides in the U.S. industry in major areas such as album sales and tours, entry to radio still tends to be the last piece of the missing puzzle," Billboard said. "Among these, Monsta X has made great strides in entering pop radio charts," he said, positively evaluating Monsta X's growth in the U.S.
The single "WHO DO U LOVE?" is gaining popularity as MONSTA X has been active in local broadcasting as part of its 23rd world tour of 20 cities around the world.
In particular, MONSTA X has focused the attention of local musicians by staging the "Good Morning America" on ABC channel, and the "2019 Teen Choice Awards," in which a large number of famous Hollywood actors and pop stars are present, while the ABC channel's flagship program "Jimmy Kymel Live" has demonstrated its hot status as a global artist, including a concert with French Montana.
Meanwhile, MONSTA X recently completed its 50-day run with the WE ARE HERE tour covering 13 cities in Europe and North and South America.
