
BTS Lights/Boy With Luv, 日 Record Association 'Million' Certified! Over 1 million hearts.
Group BTS has received its first "Million" certification for its single album in Japan.
According to "Gold Disc Recognition Works" released by the Recording Association of Japan on Tuesday, BTS' 10th single "Lights/Boy With Luv," released in July, won the "Million" certification with more than 1 million shipments.
This made BTS the first South Korean singer to be certified as "Million" with a single and the first male artist overseas.
Previously, BTS won "Platinum" with its seventh single "Bloody Sweat Tears," and earned three more "Platinum" certification with its eighth single "MIC Drop/DNA/Crystal Snow," its third full-length Japanese album "FACE YOURSELF" and ninth single "FAKE LOVE/Airplane pt.2."
The Recording Association of Japan categorizes the album as "Gold" (more than 100,000 units), platinum (more than 250,000 units), double platinum (more than 500,000 units), triple-platinum (more than 700,000 units), and "Millions over" (more than 1 million units) depending on the accumulated monthly shipments of the album.
Meanwhile, BTS' "Lights/Boy With Luv" topped Japan's Oricon Daily Single Chart for the seventh consecutive day right after its release. It also topped the Oricon weekly singles chart (7/1~7/7) and the weekly total singles chart (7/1~7/7), proving BTS' unrivaled presence in Japan.
