So-young, a former member of girl group Stella, will make a solo comeback on Aug. 20, releasing her first digital single "Breath."
According to an official from her agency WK ENM, CEO Park Sung-Eun, So-young has set the announcement of her first digital single "Hum" on Tuesday, which she has been preparing for while working on a solo artist contract with her current agency. The goal is to join the ranks of female solo performance singers in earnest by winning the hearts of the public with powerful performances and attractive songs, not girl group members.
So-young left the stage with the team's disbandment more than a year after joining Stella as a follow-up member in 2017 but will release her single at high speed two months after the exclusive contract, sending out a signal of her debut as a solo artist.
"The title of So-young's first digital single album is 'Hum' and you can expect a performance that fills the stage entirely on her own, not as a member of the group," the agency said. "It's a Tropica, Latin-based dance song, which is not light, and expresses the maturity that suits the mood through powerful drabs."
Meanwhile, So-young is scheduled to launch a press showcase with various media outlets at Spigen Hall in Bongeunsa, Gangnam-gu on Tuesday, and will be active through broadcasting and stage.
