
Group BTS became the first Korean singer to complete a successful performance at England's Wembley Stadium, making a new history in the home of pop.
On June 1 and 2 (local time), BTS held a cover for thier European tour of "LOVE YOURSELF: SPEAK YOURSELF" at Wembley Stadium in England and held a festival with 120,000 fans that filled the concert hall.
Wembley Stadium, which opened in 2007, is home to England's national football team. The Wembley Stadium is where only internationally popular artists, including Queen, Michael Jackson, Madonna, One Direction, Eminem, Ed Sheeran, Rihanna and Beyonce, are on stage.
They became the first Korean singer to hold a solo concert at Wembley Stadium, a sacred place for world music and a dream stage for musicians, and sold out a total of 120,000 tickets for the two performances at the start of the sale. In addition, the June 1 performance was broadcast live around the world on Naver V-Live, and in Japan, Delay Viewing was held at more than 300 theaters.
Ahead of BTS' performance, Britain had a scene of evolution in the form of fans who had already gathered to watch the concert. Fans gathered to watch BTS' video footage shown on the outdoor ad board at the Piccadilly Circus Square in London on the eve of the concert, as well as visiting the pop-up store of BTS World Tours, boosted the festive mood by singing and dancing BTS' songs.
BTS responded to such fans' enthusiastic enthusiasm. They made a splendid appearance, singing 'Dionysus' against the backdrop of a reenactment of an ancient Greek temple. then sang hits such as "Not Today," "IDOL" and "FAKE LOVE" to add to the enthusiasm of the performance. Including the seven members' solos, they played all 24 songs, including the unit stage, live and gave a colorful performance.
In addition, the new album MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA's title track "Boy With Luv" and the album "Make It Right" and "Mikrokosmos" drew huge cheers from the audience.
In particular, the June 2 concert featured a surprise event secretly prepared by fans for BTS. Ahead of the last performance of the day, fans sang "EPILOGUE: Young Forever," a song from the album released in 2016, as a Korean-language swarm, touching BTS warmly. BTS couldn't hide its overwhelming emotions and ended up crying. It was an unforgettable moment for BTS and fans who are making historical moments together.
BTS continued their European tour of "LOVE YOURSELF: SPEAK YOURSELF" at Stade de France on June 7 and 8.
